The Surgical Summit enabled surgical team members and stakeholders to engage in a rich dialogue about the future of surgical improvement. The group of multi-disciplinary attendees voiced diverse and experienced perspectives on the perceived barriers to change, as well as inventive ideas and solutions to combat those barriers. Although the barriers and mechanisms of change vary greatly by group, facility and region there was strong collective agreement that this work is the right thing to do for patients.
